Start to finish
Four steps, about two minutes

Booking someone to fix, clean or service something has traditionally involved three phone calls, a referral you half trust, and a price you find out at the end. Jobika compresses all of it into a flow where every decision point is visible before you commit.

Describing a job in the Jobika app
Step one

Say what you need

Pick a service, describe the problem, add a photo.

You do not need the right trade name. Describe what is wrong in plain language and Jobika matches it to the correct category. Photographs help enormously — a picture of a leaking joint or a tripped board lets a provider quote accurately rather than defensively.

Set the location, choose whether you need someone now or at a scheduled time, and flag the job as priority if it cannot wait.

Step two

See who’s nearby

Real providers, real distances, real arrival times.

Jobika shows you the verified professionals actually near you for that trade — not a paid directory listing, not a national call centre. Each one carries their rating, the number of jobs they have completed on the platform, how far away they are, and how long they will take to reach you.

Read reviews, check their profile, then choose. If you have used someone before, they appear in your history and can be requested directly.

Agreeing a price before work begins
Step three

Agree the price first

No work starts before a number is accepted.

Your chosen provider reviews the job and sends a quote covering labour and any parts. You accept or decline it in the app. Once accepted, the amount is charged and held — neither you nor the provider can move it until the job is confirmed complete.

If the work turns out to need more than was quoted, the provider raises a revised quote and you approve it. Nothing is ever added silently at the end.

Step four

Pay and rate

Confirm, release, receipt, rating.

When the work is finished you confirm it in the app. The held payment releases to the provider, a receipt reaches your email, and the job joins your service history with everything recorded: who came, what was done, what it cost.

Then you rate them. Ratings on Jobika come only from completed, paid jobs — which is why the number next to a provider’s name means something.

Booking questions
Before you book
  • How do I book a service on Jobika?
Download the Jobika app, tell it what you need and where, and you will see verified providers near you with their rating, distance and estimated arrival time. Pick one, agree the price, and track them to your door. The whole flow takes under two minutes.
  • How quickly can a provider reach me?
In our live cities most providers arrive within 20 to 45 minutes for standard requests. The app shows a live ETA before you confirm, so you are never guessing.
  • Can I schedule a job for later?
Yes. Choose a date and time when you create the request and the job is dispatched to available providers ahead of your slot. Recurring bookings — a fortnightly cleaner, for example — are set up the same way.
  • Can I request a provider I have used before?
Yes. Every provider you have hired appears in your service history and can be requested directly. If they are unavailable, Jobika offers the closest equivalent.
  • Can I cancel a booking?
Cancel free of charge before a provider is dispatched. Once someone is on the way a small call-out fee may apply, since they have already committed travel time. Full detail is on our cancellation policy page.
  • How do I pay for a service?
Payment happens in the app via M-Pesa or card. Funds are held until you confirm the work is complete, then released to the provider. A receipt reaches your email automatically.
  • Is the price fixed before work begins?
Yes. The provider quotes and you accept before any work starts. If the job turns out to need more than was quoted, the provider raises a revised quote in the app and you approve it — nothing is added silently.
  • What if I am not happy with the work?
Raise a dispute in the app within 48 hours of job completion. Payment stays held while our support team reviews the job record, the messages and the photos, and we mediate a resolution.
  • Do you charge customers a booking fee?
No. Jobika takes a service commission from the provider, which is already reflected in the price you are quoted.
