What providers make

Earnings depend on your trade, your city, how many hours you make yourself available, and your rating. The figures below are typical weekly ranges reported by active providers in Nairobi — they are indicative, not a guarantee.

Jobika takes a service commission from each completed job. The commission is disclosed in the app before you accept, and the customer’s quoted price already includes it — so what you see as your payout is what lands in your M-Pesa.

Requirements
What you need to join
  • A valid Kenyan national ID or passport
  • An M-Pesa number registered in your own name
  • A smartphone running Android 8.0 or iOS 14 and above
  • Demonstrable skill in your trade — work history, references or portfolio
  • Trade certification where the category requires it (electrical, plumbing, gas)
  • Your own tools and, where relevant, transport
  • A clean record on the checks we run at onboarding

How we vet you

The same checks that make customers trust the platform are what make your rating worth something. Verification takes three to five working days from a complete application.

  • Identity — ID document and photograph checked against national records
  • Certification — trade papers verified with the issuing body
  • References — two prior clients or employers contacted directly
  • Interview — a short onboarding call covering conduct and standards
  • Ongoing — a rating floor you must stay above to keep receiving requests

Install the Pro app and create your provider account with your phone number.

Upload your ID, certification and references in the app. It takes about ten minutes.

We check your documents and call you for a short onboarding interview. Three to five working days.

Common questions from pros
  • Does it cost anything to join Jobika Pro?
    No. Registration, verification and the app itself are free. Jobika earns a commission on completed jobs only — if you do not work, you do not pay.
  • When and how am I paid?
    Payment for a job is released once the customer confirms completion, and settles to your registered M-Pesa number within 24 hours. Your running balance and payout history are visible in the app.
  • Do I have to accept every job I am sent?
    No. You see the job description, location and value before accepting, and you decline freely. Repeatedly accepting then cancelling does affect your standing, but declining does not.
  • Can I set my own prices?
    Yes. You quote each job yourself based on what it actually requires. Jobika shows customers a typical range for the service so your quote lands in a context they understand.
  • What happens if a customer disputes a job?
    Payment is held while our support team reviews the job record, the in-app messages and any photos. Both sides are heard. Providers are not penalised for disputes that are found in their favour.
  • Can I work in more than one category?
    Yes, provided you meet the requirements for each. Many providers list two or three related trades to widen the requests they receive.
  • How long does verification take?
    Three to five working days from a complete application. Incomplete document uploads are the usual reason it takes longer, so upload clear photographs the first time.
